Shillingford Bridge Hotel

Good friendly hotel. Room was large, bed very comfortable. Lovely bathroom. Staff liked dogs and made us all feel very welcome. Parking was good, just register at Reception. Great for walking Thames Path and Bridle way very close. Dining Room, Bar and quite a few of bedrooms have marvellous views over the Thames. Food was excellent both for dinner and very filling breakfasts which were cooked beautifully. Food served swiftly. Restaurant staff were very attentive. We really enjoyed our stay. Benson Marina on Thames Path and walking distance. Dogs welcome, lovely lunches. Ferry takes you to opposite side of river as crossing closed. You can then walk on Thames Path to Wallingford. We enjoyed our stay.

This is one of the friendliest hotels I have ever been too. The staff are outstanding, so accommodating and nothing is too much trouble. The food is excellent, presentation and flexibility. Rooms were spacious and clean. Lovely new bathrooms have been installed. Staff work together to create a wonderful experience. The hotel is tired. Investment is slowly being put back into the place and they are putting new carpets down in hallways and stairs very soon. The hotel would have been an absolute gem in it hay day and the staff want to get it back there. If you want all singing and dancing luxury they are not there yet. However if you want a friendly experience, made to feel valued this is the place to be. I hope the locals also start using this restaurant more they won’t be disappointed.

Staff were great, just the right balance between friendly and professional. Food was good too. Our recently refurbished bathroom was good, well laid out and with a strong shower. Pet friendly and our dog was very happy to get treats brought to her by the staff. They couldn't have been more accommodating about letting us eat in the bar with our dog although dogs aren't allowed in the dining room which is fair enough.

The staff were exceptional. Very friendly, very welcoming, and so helpful. We liked the atmosphere and ambiance. The bed was comfortable and the large room really nice. The food in the restaurant was very good too. The location was amazing

I loved the area beautiful scenery and old English charm. just over an hour from all London airports. (would recommend hiring a car due to location) the rooms are modernised and clean and the staff are very friendly and down to earth, not the trained false polite staff you get with the big chains.
